Students will be able to properly write and set time with whole hours using analog clocks.
Students will be introduced to analog clocks and review some facts they have previously learned. Then, have students take turns with their classmates and play with the adjustable analog clock tool. Instruct students to note 3 things they notice about the clock.
Begin the lesson by having students watch a video about telling time on an analog clock with whole hours and discuss their answer to the question that follows with their classmates. Then, review with students how analog clocks operate and have them uncover to reveal different facts about it. Guide students in completing several activities in which they practice writing time, such as helping Max read clocks and writing the times so he knows when he needs to mow his neighbor’s lawn. Next, guide students in setting analog clocks on their own. Students will draw the hands on an analog clock to show the right time, and circle the clock that shows the correct time.
Students respond to ten multiple-choice questions.
Students will think of something they enjoy doing, and when they enjoy doing it. They will draw a picture of themselves doing the activity, set the adjustable clock tool to show the time they do it, and write the time on the provided lines.
