Students will be able to understand the relationship between cause and effect.
Students will discuss the following prompt, "If you won the lottery, what would you spend the money on?" They will learn that they just practiced an example of cause and effect without even realizing it. Discuss why it is important to understand cause and effect.
Students will look at sets of pictures and decide which is the cause and which is the effect. They will be given the prompt, "A tornado heads straight towards a small town," to write some examples of possible effects. They will also do this with a photo of a man with a trophy.
Students will read a passage about a boy playing basketball and highlight the causes and effects. They will also read a passage about a girl studying for an exam and highlight those causes and effects.
Students will answer 10 questions which cover key concepts from the lesson.
