Introduction
Students will review what role models are and their characteristics. Then they will be introduced to the role that adults play in school and at home and why these roles are important. Knowing adults' roles can help you know how and when to ask for help and assist you in being more independent, feeling safe, and supporting your right to learn.
Instruction
Students will identify and name the adults in their school and home (principal, teachers, guidance counselor, janitors, parents, grandparents, other relatives). They will watch a YouTube video about adults who support and serve the community. Then they will make text to self connections through discussion thereafter. Students will do dramatic roleplays of various scenarios in school and at home to determine how the adults are supporting children.
