Students will be able to recognize and name the uppercase and lowercase letters O-T.
Students will review letters they have already learned by searching for uppercase letters A-N. Ask students why it is important to learn the alphabet.
Students will be introduced to each letter, O-T. They will trace a path from the uppercase to the lowercase for each letter. O is for owl. P is for pie. Qu is for queen. R is for rabbit. S is for spider. T is for tiger.
Students will match uppercase letters to their lowercase letters. They will also drag lowercase letters to their corresponding speakers. They will then drag ladybugs to leaves that have lowercase letters. They will drag the flowers with an uppercase letter to the wheelbarrow.
Students will respond to ten questions in which they must match upper and lowercase letters as well as matching spoken words to their starting letters.
Students will recall what they learned:
- Why is learning the alphabet important?
- Can you name all of the letters starting with O and ending with T?
Students will play an alphabet flashcard game. Lastly, they will play "I Spy" and identify all the letters they learned in this lesson.
