This lesson will help students learn how to recognize and print the letter Hh. Students follow Fred the Fox through the lesson.

Learning objective
Students will be able to recognize and print the letter Hh, as well as determine if a word has an Hh sound.
Introduction
Students review the letter Gg by fishing for words. By doing so they reveal Hector the Hedgehog, their guide for the letter Hh. Students are then asked to write the upper and lowercase Gg. You may choose to have students do this on their own sheets of paper or to ask a few students to come to the board to demonstrate writing the letter.
Instruction
Have students drag the Hh's to Hector's name. Hector will then ask his assistant, Max, to write the letter hh in the air. Have students do this along with Max. Have them practice a few times. Students will then practice writing uppercase and lowercase Hh on the board and on their own paper. Two students can complete a puzzle to see what Hector likes to do in his free time.
Students will then practice and pronounce Hh sounds. Ask students if they can determine which letter belongs at the start of each of the given words. Have the class determine if they need an uppercase or lowercase Hh. How do they decide? Students will then practice identifying Hh sounds in words. Have students help Hector find his way back home by following a path of words with Hh.
Quiz
Review the letter Hh with 10 questions on identifying the letter Hh. They must do so by clicking the letter Hh within words, within sentences, and by only selecting the upper or lowercase Hh. They are then asked to identify if a spoken word has an Hh in it.
Closing
Students will review how to write the letter Hh, and them they will decorate the letter Hh.
