Students will be able to adjectives to describe people, places, or things.
Students will look at a picture of a bunny and describe the animal. They will discuss that the words they used were probably adjectives.
Students will be introduced to adjectives and what they do. Adjectives can tell how a noun looks, feels, tastes, smell, behaves, and more! Students will look at examples of common adjectives, such as "pretty" and "slimy." Next, they will look at pictures and drag adjectives to describe them. For example, they will see a picture of coffee with steam rising, so students should drag the word, "hot" in front of "coffee." Students will also read a short story about a boy named Tom's birthday. They will fill in the blanks with adjectives to make the story more interesting. Then, they will look at pictures and write a sentence about each picture using the adjective that best matches.
Students are given 10 questions in which they are asked to review adjectives, how they are used, and how to identify them.
Students will recall what they learned about adjectives and match adjectives to their corresponding picture. Lastly, they will look at a photograph of a beach and write a sentence about it.
