In this lesson, students will learn about the unique weather patterns of each season and how it affects people, plants, and animals.
Students will be able to explain the effects seasonal weather has on communities.
Students will recall the four seasons; summer, spring, fall, and winter and share what they know about each season with a partner.
This lesson will review the 4 seasons and describe their typical weather patterns. It will ask students to discuss what they know about the seasons in more detail; including how they should dress. The students will learn about how animals and plants are affected by seasonal weather changes. They will also observe pictures of animals and plants during each season. The lesson will also discuss activities and holidays that are typically associated with each season.
Students will respond to 10 questions, including 4 true/false and 6 multiple-choice.
Students will sort out the effects seasonal weather changes have on plants and animals. Then, they will spin the wheel and draw a picture of seasonal effects based on the season they land on. Students will choose to show the effects on either people, plants, or animals.
You can chart the effects for each season including what people wear and do, and how plants and animals change. They may also create their own booklet with the effects to refer to.
