Students will review when to capitalize letters in sentences. They will discuss how proper nouns, including people and pet names, names of places, and days of the week, should always be capitalized. Explain how capitalizing holidays, product names, and geographic names are important.
Students will sort proper nouns into the categories: "Holidays," "Products," and "Geographic Names." They will read sentences with capitalization mistakes and circle the words that should be capitalized. They will then read a list of words and determine if they are capitalized correctly. Next, students will write proper names, such as "United States," correctly.
Students will read 10 sentences and select the words that should be capitalized.
Students will use the spinner to choose a word and determine if it is capitalized correctly. Lastly, they will finish sentences, like, "Sometimes I eat ... for breakfast."
