Students will be able to add or change individual sounds in one-syllable words in order to make new words.
Students will review isolating sounds in a cvc word.
Students will review some one-syllable words and remember that they just have one vowel sound. They will look at a few different examples of letters being added to words to make new words. For example, "nap" to "snap." Then they will try making new words themselves. They will also play a fun game using what they learned.
Students will answer 10 questions in which they are asked to making new words. For some questions, students will use pictures to help them figure out the words, and with others they must choose an alternate letter to start the word with.
Students will recall what they learned and play another ladder game.
